  1. I've found a lot of former vx works aps being migrated to IOS. As I find them (SNMP get failed) I've been changing the device type (7 to 17) in the database, updating the credentials and resetting mac address (not really sure why this changes).

Is there an easier way to keep existing known devices w/ their history when they're migrated to IOS like this?

  2. Don,

Have you tried the AMP's 'Replace Hardware' feature? If you've added the IOS devices, you should be able to go into the manage page for the new device, click 'Replace Hardware' at the bottom, then select the old device from the list on the next page. I don't know though if it will work in this case, i.e. when the AP's firmware has taken such a radical change, but it's perhaps worth a try.

    Cheers,

  3. I hadn't even considered that option; assuming it was only for 'like' replacements. I'll give it a shot next time I spot some migrant aps. Thanks.
